Frequently Asked Question
How long does it take to update the director's particulars at CCM?
It typically takes about two weeks to update the director’s particulars at CCM. According to the Malaysian Company Act 2016, section 170 (4), every company must appoint a compliance officer to keep track of any changes in directors’ particulars. The compliance officer is responsible for ensuring that the Registrar of Companies receives updated information within fourteen days of any changes taking place.
When do I need to inform or notify CCM when you change director's particulars?
According to Malaysian company law, the particulars of a company’s directors must be updated within 28 days of any change occurring. Therefore, if there are any changes to the director’s particulars at your company, you will need to update the public record within that time frame. Depending on how many changes have occurred and how difficult they are to track down, it may take a bit longer to fully update everything. However, as long as you keep track of the changes and update the public record in a timely manner, you should be in compliance with the law.
What is the penalty if you do not notify CCM to change director's details?
Under the Malaysian Company Act 2016, if a company fails to notify the CCM of any changes in its directors’ particulars within 30 days of the change, it may be fined up to RM5,000.
